Hi. We are Ben & Brandy.

Act 1: Don’t date your coworkers
Well let’s start from the beginning. We met working at Universal Studios and started dating in February 2019. And boy, did neither one of us know how much we would help the other to excel, and how many crazy things we would see together in this cosmos.

We started travelling together, and decided to move into our first apartment together at the beginning of 2020 right in the center of downtown Orlando. When I say that if we rented that place one day later they would not have handed us our keys from a 6 foot pole. But this was it, our party year, our club year, our rooftop pool year. Yeah I’m only kidding, we played animal crossing and watched netlfix too.

But it helped us to learn that we wanted to see more, and to be able to experience as much as possible and get out of the house and see the world.

Act 2: We bought a bus?!

Both of us have separately had joked in the past about camping out of a car, or buying an RV. Neither of us had really ever heard of a skoolie until one of Ben’s friends had done it. Then the idea popped in our head, and a few weeks later we were meeting some guy from facebook in his backyard to buy a 40 foot school bus. At this point do we wish we thought it through a little bit more, well maybe, but you live and learn right.

So in the middle of a pandemic we drove our new 40 foot home 4 hours from Orlando to Tallahassee back home to Brandy’s family, and it only took us 19 hours!

She had some problems at first, but we got her going, tore everything out, and built an entire house from the ground up. Honestly we are proud.

Act 3: My whole heart.

It wasn’t just us two doing all of this. Heath was our little man who was with us every step of the way. He wasn’t too big a fan of travelling but he was most certainly the best little couch potato cat that ever done lived.

So the actual side story here is, between wanting to travel with him easier and wanting to be able to make day trips for work all over the state we ended up buying Yue! And you heard it here folks. She fits in a parking space. We absolutely love this van. We drove all the way to Tennessee to pick her up from another facebook man in the middle of nowhere. Like I said, life’s all about being able to tell great stories. But she has been an absolute dream and made things so much easier for us.

Act 4: A short flight

I tell a lot of people that we just kind of up and moved to Australia. It wasn’t fully like that, but it was pretty close. We had actually been talking about it for about a year. But we couldn’t bring Heath with us so we were content travelling the US in our van. But unfortunately he was an old cat and had a lot of medical issues. We like to think that it was him telling us this was the next right step. Heath was named after Heath Ledger who is from Perth Australia. So our ultimate goal here is go visit Perth.

But yeah, in case you missed it, we are living in Australia now. What a strange concept being so far away from well, everything. But we have each other and that is all that really matters. We hope to experience so much here, maybe save up some more for our next adventure, and have some really good stories to tell.
